Diane L. Schneider, MD,

Dr. Diane Schneider is a Southern California-based geriatrician and epidemiologist-turned-writer who uses both skill sets to educate, enlighten, and entertain. Her latest endeavor, which has already earned award-winning acclaim, is a coming-of-age memoir as a newly minted physician at a big city Southern hospital and what experiences lead to realizing the humanity of her patients.

As a physician with expertise in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, her academic career focused on clinical care and clinical research of men and women. Diane’s research findings are published in, among others, JAMA - The Journal of the American Medical Association and The Annals of Internal Medicine. She has presented her work and related topics at numerous meetings and academic conferences. Diane is also a retired faculty member of UCSD’s School of Medicine.

Diane is passionate about health education. She enjoys the opportunity to share her passion for bone health with professional and consumer groups. Her consumer book, The Complete Book of Bone Health, was published by Prometheus Books, and she is the co-founder of 4BoneHealth, a nonprofit organization focused on bone health education for all ages.
